About AutoAPIWP

A problem we faced.
A product we built.

We are a technology company that builds WordPress automation tools. This is the story of why we started — and why we built the plugin the market was missing.

I searched for a WordPress plugin that could fetch data from a REST API, map the fields, and publish posts automatically. Nothing did the complete job. So I built it myself.

The founding story

From a real-world need nobody had solved

The founder of AutoAPIWP brings over two decades of professional experience across multiple domains — spanning both technical and business disciplines. Through that journey, one consistent thread ran through everything: a deep inclination toward building with technology.

That inclination turned into action when a specific project demanded fetching live data from external REST APIs and RSS feeds, then automatically publishing the results as WordPress content. It sounded straightforward. The reality was far more difficult.

Hours of research turned into days. Plugin after plugin was evaluated. Some handled API connections but had no publishing pipeline. Others managed RSS aggregation but stopped short of structured post creation. Several required purchasing separate modules, each with its own installation, its own configuration, and its own learning curve — just to assemble a partial solution.

The market had half-solutions. Nobody had built the complete pipeline.

A problem that no existing plugin had solved

The WordPress plugin ecosystem had plenty of tools — just not a single one that handled the complete workflow from external data source to published WordPress content.

🧩

Half the job, every time

Every plugin in the market handled one lane — connect to an API, or display a feed, or import a file — but none closed the loop from external data all the way to published WordPress post.

💸

Forced paid modules for basic flows

Plugins that got close required purchasing multiple paid add-ons that weren’t bundled together. You’d pay for the core, pay for post creation, pay for scheduling — each as a separate product.

⚙️

Fragmented technical setups

Getting even a partial workflow running meant installing several separate plugins, configuring them independently, hoping they’d cooperate, and owning the integration failures when they didn’t.

🔗

API connectors that couldn’t publish

Tools that connected to REST APIs were built to display data in shortcodes — not to create native WordPress posts with proper taxonomy mapping, images, source attribution, and duplicate controls.

📰

RSS plugins that couldn’t handle APIs

RSS aggregators were mature but siloed. None also handled structured REST API ingestion, authentication, JSON path mapping, or the growing range of external data formats beyond RSS/Atom.

🚫

No combined pipeline existed

In 2024 and even today, there is no other WordPress plugin offering both an API pipeline and an RSS pipeline in a single install — with unified controls, mapping, publishing, and display output.

💡  After exhaustive research, the conclusion was clear: the plugin we needed simply didn’t exist. No plugin in the WordPress ecosystem — then or now — offered API ingestion, RSS ingestion, field mapping, duplicate protection, scheduled publishing, quality filtering, and frontend display in a single, coherent product. The only rational path was to build it.

From a missing tool to a complete product

The journey from recognizing a market gap to shipping a production-ready, security-hardened WordPress plugin with four commercial tiers.

The real-world project

A genuine operational need: fetch data from external REST APIs and RSS feeds, map it into WordPress fields, and publish automatically — without writing custom code from scratch for every source.

The market research gap

Weeks of testing every available WordPress plugin. API connectors, RSS importers, automation tools, file importers. None combined API + RSS ingestion with a complete publishing pipeline in one plugin.

The decision to build

Rather than assemble a fragile stack of mismatched plugins, the decision was made to architect a single, complete tool — purpose-built for the fetch → filter → transform → publish → display workflow.

AutoAPIWP is founded

AutoAPIWP is established as the product company behind the work — a focused technology brand dedicated to WordPress content automation tools. The flagship product takes shape under the working name Auto API.

Security-first architecture

From the beginning, the design prioritised security: AES-256 encrypted credential storage, remote URL hardening to block SSRF-style attacks, secret masking in all previews, and nonce-guarded admin AJAX throughout.

Ingestics launches on WordPress.org

The plugin is formally named Ingestics — API and RSS Automation, approved on WordPress.org, and released as v3.0.0 with a single-codebase, four-tier feature gating system. Free. Lite. Pro. Business.

Still the only plugin that does this

The market gap that triggered AutoAPIWP’s creation still exists. No other WordPress plugin combines what Ingestics offers in a single install.

🔗

Dual pipeline: API + RSS in one plugin

REST APIs and RSS/Atom feeds are managed under one admin interface, with unified provider controls, shared scheduling, and combined activity logging. No other plugin in the WordPress ecosystem offers both in a single unified product.

🔒

Security-first from day one

AES-encrypted credential vault, SSRF-blocking URL validation, secret masking in previews and logs, nonce-guarded AJAX, and secure webhook controls by tier help protect automation workflows.

📦

One install, four tiers

Ingestics uses a single shared codebase with license-based feature gating. Install once and stay on that install forever. No separate file to download when you upgrade. No data loss, no reconfiguration.

🆓

A free tier that actually does things

The free WordPress.org version includes API ingestion, RSS ingestion, JSON/XML/CSV mapping, duplicate protection, featured image sideloading, activity logging, a setup wizard, and security-hardened request handling. No license key required.

🖥

Frontend display built in

Shortcodes, template tags, Gutenberg blocks, Elementor widgets, Bricks elements, and grid/carousel/ticker layouts — all included by tier, without needing a separate display plugin.

🚀

No middleware. No per-task fees.

Everything runs on your own WordPress server. No Zapier. No Make. No execution limits or per-connection charges. You own the pipeline, the data, and the infrastructure — permanently.

Before Ingestics vs. After Ingestics

The old approach

  • API connector plugin (paid)
  • Separate RSS importer plugin
  • Separate scheduling/cron tool
  • Separate frontend display plugin
  • Middleware service (Zapier/Make) to connect them
  • Monthly middleware fees + per-task limits
  • Multiple configuration surfaces to maintain
  • Integration failures you owned and debugged

With Ingestics

  • One WordPress plugin install
  • API and RSS under a single admin interface
  • Scheduling built in from Lite tier
  • Frontend display included — shortcodes, blocks, widgets
  • No middleware required for the core workflow
  • No recurring per-task or per-connection fees
  • Single settings screen, unified logs, one license
  • One support channel for the complete stack

Our flagship product

Ingestics — API and RSS Automation

Ingestics is a WordPress plugin that connects any REST API or RSS/Atom feed to WordPress, then maps, filters, transforms, publishes, and displays external content as native WordPress posts — without middleware, without per-task fees, and without writing a single line of code.

Principles that guide everything we build

AutoAPIWP builds tools we would want to use ourselves — which means holding them to standards we actually care about.

🛡️

Security is not optional

Credential encryption, SSRF protection, secret masking, and nonce-guarded admin actions are built into the free tier. Advanced webhook automation and signed outbound bridge controls are available in higher tiers.

📦

One install, forever

License-based feature gating means you install once and upgrade by entering a key. No file replacements, no reconfiguration, no data loss. The plugin grows with you without disrupting what you’ve built.

🔍

Transparency in operations

Every fetch run produces reconciliation counts — fetched, created, filtered, duplicated, errored. You always know exactly what happened. No silent failures, no mystery logs.

🆓

Genuinely useful for free

The free tier is not a crippled demo. It includes real API and RSS ingestion, real mapping, real duplicate protection, real security hardening, and a real setup wizard. We believe software should earn paid upgrades.

⚙️

No middle-layer dependency

We don’t want you to need Zapier, Make, or any other middleware just to get your data from an external API into a WordPress post. What Ingestics does, it does entirely on your server, under your control.

🌱

Built to last

WordPress versioning, PHP compatibility floors, clean uninstall hooks, and non-autoload storage for heavy data are all deliberate choices. We build like this plugin needs to work reliably on production sites for years.

The plugin we needed didn’t exist.
So we built it.

Ingestics is available free on WordPress.org today. No license key, no payment, no friction — just install and connect your first API or RSS provider.
